Business Principles
The Bureau's business and operations are guided by five core principles:

  • Reciprocity refers to the principle of reciprocal data sharing amongst its members. Members of The Bureau may opt to contribute data to our highly secured database.
  • Members of The Bureau are encouraged to submit regular updates of their trade credit data.

  • Responsibility refers to the regulations governing The Bureau and our members in providing and accessing information.
  • The Bureau members must ensure that their enquiry for information is for a relevant purpose and obtain the necessary consent from the subject/s of enquiry.
  • To monitor the established control procedures for user access and information security, the Bureau maintains logs of all usages, accesses and amendments through detailed system audit trails.

  • Integrity refers to The Bureau's commitment towards the provision of comprehensive, reliable and credible information to our members and customers.
  • The sources of our data are from recognized statutory bodies such as;
    • Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)'s
      • Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS)
      • DCHEQS (Dishonoured Cheque Information System) &
      • Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM)
  • Integrity is further assured as The Bureau has a direct 'system to system' link with BNM and SSM to protect the reliability of information by minimizing human intervention and human error.
  • In addition, The Bureau has a data integrity team whose function is to pro-actively monitor and validate data accuracy and periodic updates.
  • Dispute management processes are also in place to ensure prompt action is taken to rectify confirmed errors or inaccuracies, in the unlikely event it occurs.
  • Confidentiality refers to the strict guideline which governs the information access provided to members and its users.
  • All information disclosed in The Bureau's reports is treated with the strictest level of privacy and confidentiality.
  • The Bureau has also imposed extensive audit and monitoring processes to ensure access by members is for credit evaluation and other relevant purposes.
  • This prevents our information from being manipulated and used for unauthorized purposes.

  • Efficiency refers to the efficient delivery of The Bureau's products and services, which is enabled by proven technology, people and processes.
  • The system is user friendly, highly secured and available 24/7, and is backed by "best-in-class" business recovery systems to assure optimal availability.
  • Through knowledge transfer from Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) & TransUnion LLC, The Bureau incorporates global best practices from other efficiently managed bureaus worldwide into our business processes and operations.
